Here and There #4

There is so  much news that is out there. Backstreet Boys will have there 20th anniversary and it will be a great one. They will also be releasing a new album this year and then they will also get their name on the Hollywood walk of fame. Backstreet Boys aren't slowing down. There is also news about Backstreet Boys in production for a documentary.

Here is what Ew.com said about it:

“This is an incredible opportunity to make a film no one would expect The Backstreet Boys to make. What drew me to this project is their openness and willingness to push themselves into uncomfortable places, to be vulnerable and honest and to be really trusting of the filmmaking team to steer them in the right direction. This isn’t some 3-D Boy Band puff piece – BSB is getting real and it has been exciting to work with them as they explore their past and start to look towards their futures. They’re grown men in a boy-band. They are wrestling with the big questions in their lives and their careers. And they are just really fascinating guys,” Kijak said in a press release.

This comes from Rollingstones.com:

Kijak, who hopes to complete the documentary by this fall, said members of the band have been enthusiastic about the project. "What drew me to this project is their openness and willingness to push themselves into uncomfortable places, to be vulnerable and honest and to be really trusting of the filmmaking team to steer them in the right direction," he said, promising the project won't just be a "3D boy-band puff piece."

Kelly Clarkson won for Best Pop Vocal album at the Grammys. She was also being funny in her acceptance speech. Later in the show she performed. Here is part of what she said:

This comes from MTV.com

"I didn't know I was going to win 'cause I literally, I was so excited to be in a category with Fun. I have been covering you all summer. I'm sorry, I love that song. I think it's so awesome. I love Pink. Everyone — Adele — that I was in a category with. Miguel, I don't know who the hell you are, but we need to sing together. I mean, good god, that was the sexiest damn thing I've ever seen. What? Anyway, thank you so much, friends, family, label, my manager, Narvel [Blackstock, Brandon's father and Kelly's manager], my fiancĂ©, who is sexy tonight. I did not think I was going to win. Thank you!"

Tv World #2 American Idol

This week on American Idol was a wild ride. Some people made it through and a lot of people went home. My favorites are saved at least for now. One of my favorites went home and that is Nate Tao. He was and is a great singer. I am sad to see him go home but I hope that he can come back. Two of my favorites that are safe are Johnny Keyser and Lazaro Arbos. Next week we get to know which twenty guys make it through and which eight get to go home. This year they are going to the top 40 very quick. Will Lazaro and Johnny make it through and be in the top 40??? I sure hope so.

This week Lazaro sung Angels and I thought he did such and amazing job. He is a shinning star. Here is an article about this amazing Lazaro Arbos:

This comes from the Examiner.com
Lazaro Arbos overcame a struggle during the first two rounds of Hollywood week on "American Idol" Wednesday.
Working through nervous energy and difficulty with stuttering, Arbos overcame the first round with a strong performance of "Angels" by Robbie Williams.
"It is extraordinary how when you start singing, it's so clear and full and beautiful," said an impressed Keith Urban. "You just simply must go on. You're going through."
In a new twist, Arbos was then asked to join a group with Josh Stephens, Scott Fleenor, and Christian Lopez, instead of selecting his own group.

Here is Lazaro Singing Angels:

Here is Lazaro singing in the group arounds:

Now on to Johnny Keyser. Johnny Keyser made it through to the Vegas round last year but this year he is sticking through hoping to make it to the top 40. Johnny was hardly shown on tv so far. His performance wasn't shown but he sung for group around and forgot the words to the song.

The person we get to say goodbye to is Nate Tao. He is an American sign language interpreter. His parents are both deaf.

This comes from reston.patch.com

The end of the line on Fox's American Idol came Thursday night for Reston's Nate Tao.
Tao, whose solo week performance was not shown on Thursday's show, was not chosen by judges to advance closer to the Top 20 that will sing live on the show.
They did air Tao's reaction, though.
"It's not the end of the world, but it sucks," Tao said on the broadcast.
Reston Patch spoke with Tao earlier on Thursday. Here's more info on him and his happy memories of performing at Herndon High School:
Reston's Nate Tao has heard from dozens of old Northern Virginia friends the last week - ever since he made it to Hollywood Week on American Idol
Idol-watchers will learn Thursday night whether Tao, a 2006 graduate of Herndon High, will advance to the Top 20 and a spot on the live portion of the show.
Even if the road ends for Tao, 24, in Hollywood Week, Tao (who of course can't talk about upcoming results) says it has been an amazing time.

Tv World #1 Switched At Birth

TV World is a new thing that will feature TV shows. I will talk about all of the shows that are out there. I am happy to announce that this is the first TV World and the feature story is Switched At Birth.

Last night episode of Switched At Birth "The Acquired Inability to Escape"

The Episode was about Bay and her school not having enough money to have a drama club so it was going to close except Katherine volunteer to be the new director for the school's play. At first Bay doesn't like having her around but then once Bay learns that she hurt her mom's feelings she changes her mind about her being at school. Daphne gets robbed and knocked down while being in the part with her food truck. She got robbed because two kids thought it was fun to fool the deaf kids.

Here are some articles about SAB:

This from Buddy TV

ABC Family's hit show, Switched at Birth continues on Monday, February 11, with an episode called "Human/Need/Desire." During a set visit last month as part of TCA 2013, BuddyTV caught up with Gilles Marini and Constance Marie, who play Angelo and Regina on the show, as they talked about learning sign language and the possibility of more passion between their characters.

The impact of the show on the sign language community
Asked about what affects they've personally observed in regards to the show's impact on the sign language community, Marie said, "Through the success of the show, a lot of students have told me that they have petitioned their high schools to have ASL as a second language. A lot of people have decided to become interpreters and take it in school and that's just because of a show. That's amazing to me."
Marini added, "It's been quite a bit of a revelation for me. [While] walking on the streets and I have had so many people from so many different countries [come up to me], because there is no show really around the world where the deaf community is a part of it. Once two girls from Spain came up to me and they said 'thank you' (signs the phrase), and I know [the sign for] 'thank you.' They were actually bi-lingual because the sign in Spanish isn't the same. So it was incredible to see that. They were like 'you don't understand what you do for us.' "

Here is the preview for an all new Switched at Birth next week:
