Family Programming

If you know there aren't a lot of family programming that is on tv today with all of the violent shows and the ratings that no one can hardly understand what it is but one channel named Hallmark has family programming and its making its mark.  Two actresses names come to mind when I think of Hallmark, Candace Cameron Bure and Lori Loughlin. Most of the movies on Hallmark I do not watch but any movies those two are in are a must see even if you do not like the channel you will be hooked. For a few years Hallmark has showed mystery shows and mystery movies well recently they changed their sister channel Hallmark movies to Hallmark movies and mysteries which will show more mystery movies. Lori stars in Garage Sale mystery and like series they are making series of movies.
Next week on April 1lth she will star in the third Garage Sale Mystery called Garage Sale Mystery The Deadly Room. She Also stars in the Hallmark Channel series When Calls the Heart. If you haven't watched this channel at all then you are missing out on some great stuff.
Last January Hallmark started a series called When Calls the Heart and its based on the Canadian West series by Janette Oke. Season 2 of the show will premiere on April 25th. This is one show that will get you hooked.

Last night Candace Cameron Bure starred in the Hallmark Channel mystery movie A Bone to Pick: An Aurora Teagarden. Hallmark just started this new movie series. Its great to see her in a mystery because I believe that she is really good in portraying this character. The next Aurora Teagarden will premiere in summer. This is what Candace says about playing Aurora "I'm not exactly the way that Aurora Teagarden is physically described in the book," says Bure. "But I hope I do her justice, and I hope that the fans really love the movie as much as I do ... and as much as I love the books, as well." Click here to read more about this movie from zap2it

Both of these women might sound familiar because during the late 80's and 90s they starred in the show called Full House which was a family show. So these women do family programming so well.

Interview with Brian Bird (producer of When Calls the Heart on Hallmark Channel)

On January 11, 2014 When Calls the Heart premiered on Hallmark Channel. When Calls the Heart based on the book series When Calls the Heart written by Janette Oke. The series is directed by Michael Landon Jr. The show is about Elizabeth Thatcher (Erin Krakow), a young teacher accustomed to her high society life, who receives her first classroom assignment in Coal Valley, a small coal mining town where life is simple, but often fraught with challenges. Elizabeth charms most everyone in Coal Valley, except Constable Jack Thornton (Daniel Lissing) who believes Thatcher’s wealthy father has doomed the lawman's career by insisting he be assigned in town to protect the shipping magnate’s daughter. Living in a 19th-century coal town, Elizabeth will have to learn the ways of the frontier if she wishes to thrive in the rural west on her own. Lori Loughlin plays Abigail Stanton, a wife and mother whose husband, the foreman of the mine, along with a dozen other miners, has just been killed in an explosion. The newly widowed women find their faith is tested when they must go to work in the mines to keep a roof over their heads.
When the series first premiered it got high ratings and when the first season finished the ratings were higher than when it first premiered. I like the story telling and the people and that it is a family show. A lot of families shows came on when I was growing up and now to see a family show on when I am an adult it just makes me feel happy. A few years ago I got started in reading Janette Oke's books with the Love Comes Softly series which became so popular that Hallmark made movies out of her books which Michael Landon Jr. wrote and directed and produced but not all of them.
I was so excited when Brian Bird one of the producers of When Calls the Heart said that he would be glad to be interviewed by me. I have full respect for this show and everyone who works so hard on it to make it an amazing show. Before this show I had a number one favorite show on TV now but since watching this show its become my number one favorite show. When Calls the Heart was renewed for a second season. All the fans of the show call themselves the Hearties and its so good to call yourself a heartie because it means you are a true fan of the show.

Here is the interview with Brian Bird:

WTCH Q & A for Kristina Chen

1. What is the best thing about working on WCTH?

For me, and I think for Michael Landon, the best part of doing this show is that we feel we are serving a far-underserved audience.  Fifteen years ago, all the networks competed for a family audience, but today nobody but the Hallmark Channel and the Up network are even trying.  While we've all been sleeping (or hypnotized by all the edgy programming), there is virtually no family friendly programming anywhere to be found.  There are kids' shows and adult shows everywhere, but family TV is on life support, almost extinct.  Some of my best memories growing up were watching TV with my family.  That's not even possible anymore, but with When Calls the Heart, it still is.  We're very proud of that and feel we are doing something very radical because everybody else is following the HBOs of the world, like lemmings, over the cliff into dark and depraved.

2. How long did it take to build the buildings?

When we found the Jamestown movie facility, the town was about two-thirds there already, but we felt we needed to fill it out some to make it a full “Coal Valley.”  Most of the interior locations, such as the Saloon, the jailhouse, Abigail's Cafe, the Mercantile and Gowen's office also had to be built or finished.  We also built three row-houses and the exterior and interior of the mine.  All told, all of those locations took three construction crews working full time about six weeks.

 3. Was Coal Valley an actual place from Janette's books?

This is the interesting part about Coal Valley.  It did not exist in Janette Oke's Canadian West series of books, but Janette always told us she wanted to write about a coal mining town in her novels because, growing up in Alberta, she always new coal mining was a big part of the province.  So when we were trying to figure out how to do a multi-generational series involving both the original Elizabeth Thatcher and this new branch of the Thatcher family, represented by her niece and namesake, young Elizabeth, we decided to make Coal Valley the world of the show.  And Janette loved it, so much that she decided to write a new series of When Calls the Heart novels following the events in Coal Valley and young Elizabeth's journey and love story with Jack Thornton/

 4. When you first starting working on WCTH did you research 1910 and Janette Oke?

Michael Landon had already made a series of movies for the Hallmark Channel based on Janette's “Love Come Softly” series of books, so he was well-versed in how to do period drama.  I've always been a journalist first in everything I write, so this an opportunity for me do to a bunch of homework.  Plus we had Janette's great novels to glean a lot of ideas from.

5. How long does it take to make a whole season?

Season 1 and 12 episodes took a year to make.  Usually, you could do 12 episodes from start to finish in about 8-9 months, but we wanted to get it just right, so we took our time creating the first several scripts to try to get the world and the voices just right.  It is always a process of trial and error, trying to find the heart and soul of a new series, and creating a place where audiences want to come back to week after week.    That's why when you look back at successful series earlier seasons, you'll often notice that they evolve over time and that the first several episodes sometimes don't feel consistent with the world the show later becomes as it matures and finds itself.  We hope that process didn't take too many episodes before people felt the world was all making sense.

 6. I know you said the soundtrack for the show will be out soon but what kind of music will be on the soundtrack?  At this point, we will likely wait until after Season 2 to make a best- of soundtrack with all the best beautiful music cues.

7. Do you know when the whole season will be out on DVD?

Out understanding is that a full Season 1 set will be available sometime in the 4th quarter of 2014, my guess in November sometime.

8. Will there be any bible lessons on the show?

There are no firm plans yet for Bible lessons, but we have discussed it with a few organizations, and will probably try to do something as Season 2 unfolds.

9. Is it difficult to find lessons from 1910 for Elizabeth to teach?

No, that's the fun part of doing homework for a show set in 1910, and one of the real bonuses of a rich, vibrant internet.  Doing that amount of research before internet databases, would have required a lot of time and digging.  Some science lessons, gravity and inertia, are the same now as they would have been in 1910, as they were during Isaac Newton's day.   We tried to do be consistent with research of how children were taught back in 1910, such as recreate grade school primary readers that would have been used during those days.  The intelligence test she gave to Beau (and Jack) had questions from an IQ test back in the early 1900s.   Also, her initial research into Beau's “swimming words” was consistent with very early research on dyslexia.

10. Can you tell me the proccess you go through to making an episode?

First comes the story-breaking process, which consists of writers sitting in a room together exploring themes and ideas.  Most story lines come from free-form associations are are batted around the room like a hockey puck until they begin to resemble a storyline.  Other ideas come from real life experiences, as was the case with the Beau Grady storyline.  Our writer for that episode, Kim Byer-Johnson, is the mother of a dyslexic son, and she wrote that storyline from the heart.   Then a 10-page outline is written and has to be approved by executives at the network.  After that a first draft of the script is written, and then brought back to the head writer (me) and I do a polish on the script to keep it consistent with the world we are created.  Then that version of the script goes to the network for another set of notes.  After that, we try to finalize the script and get it ready for production, although it will usually go through a few more revision once the director of the episode, and our lead actors, give their thoughts.  That whole process takes about a month to perfect the script.  Then it delivered to production where the art department begins prepping any special needs such as new sets or props required for that episode.  That process takes a week to two weeks before we're ready to film.  After seven days of filming, the episode, as we say is now “in the can,” and then goes into our preproduction process.  That includes sound design, visual effects, music scoring and color correction, all of which takes an additional 3-4 weeks.  You might ask how we were able to accomplish 12 episodes in nine months if they each take approximately 2.5 months to finish?  The answer to that is we are working on multiple episodes simultaneously.  While one director is filming one, the art department is prepping the next one.  When that one goes into production, the previous few are going through the post-production process simultaneously.  It's a business of creative logistics.

11. #hearties might want to know but How did Janette like the letters and cards from Operation Oke?

She only received them recently and is preparing her response, so I'm waiting with baited breath like the rest of the hearties!

12. How many retakes are there for one episode?

There's no set number, and there's rarely anything that is actually a “retake.”  That would mean we go back and reshoot a scene that was already shot.  This is not to say that never happens (because we did go back and reshoot scenes in Season 1), but the goal is to try to minimize reshooting.  During the production cycle, the script is broken down by the assistant director into a shooting schedule, so that for instance, we shoot all the saloon scenes in a day or two, and stay in that location until all the pages are shot.  Each scene, depending on its length and how complicated it is to film, is budgeted for a certain number of hours (they usually average about two hours).  During that filming process, we may do 4-6 takes of each set up, which is basically each camera angle.  Most scenes are shot from 4-5 different angles, so we're saying “action about 15-20 times for each scene.

13. Do you know how much film it takes to make an episode?

We shoot the show on high-end digital cameras, and no on film cameras, so it's not a function of how much film, but  how much digital media we need.  It's usually going to be about 20, 10-gigabyte hard drives per episode.

14. How do you determine the title of the episodes?

Some TV series take a different approach.  “Friends” always titled their episodes starting with the phrase “The One With...” so it would become something like “The One With the Pile of Cash” or “The One With the Proctologist.”  That sort of thing just seemed like the writers were trying to be too cool for school, so we decided not to do anything that silly.  For us, we just tried to look for a thematic element, common phrase, euphemism, play on words or a derivation of some other famous title of a book or a movie.  So for instance the final episode became “Prelude to a Kiss” because that's the title of a famous movie and it was a good description of what we were trying to accomplish in that storyline.

I wanna thank Brian Bird for answering these questions and giving great answers that will make Hearties fall more in love with When Calls the Heart!

Tv World #3 Switched At Birth

If you haven't see Switched At Birth yet you should start now. Switched at Birth is now into their third season and with it being more than halfway done when big drama happens. One of the characters dies from a car accident. Not a lot of people liked him in the beginning but when Bay found her biological dad Angelo Sorrento, Bay's father John Kennish didn't like him and was very angry when he met her. Angelo showed up to Bay's school which at the time was Buckner and she now goes to Carlton the school for the deaf. She was showcasing her art work when Angelo showed up. Bay tried so hard to get to know Angelo. Also Daphne Bay's father biological daughter didn't like him either. After a few years everyone got to know him. Here is why you should start watching the show if you haven't already, in season 3 episode 67 Angelo dies from swerving off the road and hitting a tree. The night before he was arguing with Regina (his wife) about having a gun. He then leaves angry. Everyone knows you don't get into a car when you are mad. He actually looked like he was speeding. It was an emotional episode. Everyone was thinking that he was gonna come out alive but with the second hemorrhage that he had he showed signs of no blood in his brain. At first he had blood in his brain but then he didn't.

Here is an interview with Gilles Marini (Angelo Sorrento):

When did you find out that Angelo would die?
Two weeks prior, I had a meeting with the executive [producer Lizzy Weiss]. We all talked about doing something pretty drastic. I wanted to have something meatier and strong for my character. We thought it would eventually help the show bring new storylines and a lot of drama. As soon as Angelo Sorrento passes, a lot of things are going to happen that are going to change everything. After three seasons, this is what the show needs, and I am extremely happy that it's my character that goes down this road. It was something for me, as an actor, that I needed, and I'm happy that it happened.
Were you satisfied with how Angelo died?
Yes, for so many different reasons and levels. For example, the way Angelo passed is similar to the way my brother-in-law passed when he was 29 years old. For me, it was the family connection that I lived with, so it was important for me to portray that. And more important than everything else, the fact that the family decided to donate his organs. What was a bit weird was when I told my mom about it: "I'm excited to be a part of something so intense. My character is dying on the show." My mom refused to watch it because it was too real for her.
Do you think there was more story to mine with Angelo? Could he have lived a little longer?
I think the show is on its 60th episode, or something like that. [Monday's episode is the 67th episode.] It is time. [On] shows like Game of Thrones, main characters die after episode nine. This is what makes the show live a long time. I was excited to put this on my résumé.
How do you think Angelo's death will impact the other characters and resonate through the rest of the series?
When I lost my dad I was kind of the same age that the girls [Bay and Daphne] are on the show. It's very simple. You either stand up and you become the man or the woman you will be the rest of your life, or you derail and you go toward things that you should maybe not go toward. Who's going to be the one who says, "I forgive you," to what Regina did prior [to Angelo's death]. How Daphne's going to react to the loss of the father she wanted to have. All those things are going to come down the pipe. The show needed to have something dramatic and I'm so happy it happens to my character, because I don't see anybody else going down that road and having that kind of impact. We needed to tie up something that's meaningful enough that makes the show interesting. You needed to have that happen.
At the end of the episode, there was a lot of guilt with the other characters following Angelo's death. Who has the most trouble dealing with that guilt?
I think Regina will have a difficult time and will have to give quite an explanation, and Daphne. Keep in mind, she's the one who grew up without a dad and she finally had one. Every season there's one episode that makes a difference and makes the show what it is, and I think this is that episode. And everybody will see why.
Will there be a chance for you to return in flashbacks?
Yes, absolutely. A lot of people got thrown off last week because Constance Marie, queen of social media, posted pictures of me on set with a 19-year-old child that no one is aware of, so people thought, "Angelo is not dead!" I thought it was kind of clever and funny but I think yes, I might come back once or twice in flashbacks or a "what if" episode. I told Lizzy, "Anytime I'm free, I'm yours!"
What will you miss most about your character?
The complexities of being a dad. I'm a very hands-on dad and I love my kids. This guy was very different from who I am. He was trying to do everything he could to be a dad but he was very awkward about it until the last episodes there when he figured things out. I really enjoyed that complexity.

Backstreet Boys have been around for 20 years. They first joined in 1993. They didn't get their start in America to believe it or not but they went to Germany to get their start. The guys made their first album in 1995 in Germany. They started out by singing in high schools and they started by singing Acapella because people didn't know if they could sing. After people heard that Backstreet Boys sounded good in Germany, America was begging Backstreet Boys to come back. Their biggest single is I Want it That A Way. Their biggest album is Millennium which sold over 1 million records the first week it came out. For the sales of their record Millennium it was in the genus book of world records. All of their albums to date has made it to the top 10 billboard 200 charts. American Idol

On April 11, 2013 Lazaro Arbos was eliminated from American Idol. I am so sad to see him leave the show. I really want to know why the judges didn't save him. I have liked him from the beginning ever since he first sung Bridge Over Trouble Waters on January 17, 2013. Since March I have been voting for this guy. When he sung Feeling Good for the second time since Vegas around, I thought the judges were going to save him. They didn't even give it a second thought. It broke my heart when he was not saved. I never wanted a woman to win idol. He was the best and will for ever be known as the last man standing. I will miss him but I hope that someone signs him so I can buy his music. Here is what I think of the show now that Lazaro is not on it anymore, the show is nothing without him. The judges and everyone was way too hard on him. There were lots of people picking on him and it made me sick. He doesn't need to be picked on. At least everyone knows that he was the best of the boys.

Here is an interview Lazaro did with The Hollywood Reporter:

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/idol-worship/american-idol-last-words-lazaro-438728

Here is an interview with USA Today:

Q: What are your future plans?
A: I love love songs a lot but at the same time I like pop. I want to do a commercial pop album with some love songs as well.
Q: What was your favorite moment from the show?
A: I would say that I got to meet a lot of amazing people that I'll have life long bonds with. I think that this show definitely gave me a stronger mindset.
Q: You seem to have much more confidence, what was it that you were too afraid to try before that you are most looking forward to try when you get home?
A: I think that this show, like I said before, kind of forced me to lose my nerves and kind of step up no matter what. I don't have a specific thing that I would like to do but if I had to say I would say I would love to act.
Q: I heard you want to act on Glee, is that true?
Yes that is one of my goals after the tour.
Q: If you couldn't act on Glee what other show would you act on?
Modern Family because I love that show.
Q: How does it feel to make it so far after overcoming so much?
A: A lot of people have been asking me if I'm sad and I am so far from sad. I am so well. I have so much going on that I am most definitely looking forward to what comes next and I feel great.

Here is an interview that Lazaro did with Billboard.com

How are you feeling?
I am excited to go home and sleep, darling. Yes, that is my main goal now!

Has it been that taxing on you?
No, it has not, but I think that we've been in such a box for so long that it's kind of cool to go off -- like, ‘Bye guys, I'll talk to you soon!' So it's not that saddening. [Laughs]

Did you have a feeling at all that it might happen?
I don't know. My thing was I know my first song wasn't the best song, but I think I came back with my last song, but that wasn't enough. So I wasn't shocked.

When they separated you into the groups did you have a feeling which group you were in?
When they separated us, I felt that I was going home because – I have a best friend and she's Amber, so I love her – but she hasn't been getting the most votes, so I kind of thought I was going home. But I said if they saved me and not her I was going to get so mad!

Nicki came on stage to say goodbye to you, which we thought was very nice of her and she posed for a pic with you.
Well, you know, I love her, she loves me. Regardless of what she says on camera, I love her and she knows that and we talk after.

American Idol

Lazaro Arbos is 22 years old and he is in the top 7 on American Idol. He is brave for not letting people stand in the way while he stutters. He has been Stuttering since he was six years old. He doesn't let anything stand in his way. Last night Lazaro was in the bottom three and I never thought he was going to be there in the bottom. I know that he will be around for a very long time. The first time I saw him is when I fell in love with his voice and him. He amazes me and I love everything he does.

This story comes from naplesnews.com:

Collier County’s Lazaro Arbos is one of only two male contestants left on “American Idol.” Thursday’s elimination round — which coincided with the “Idol” 450th episode celebration — seemed to be extra tense for the Gulf Coast High School graduate. Arbos, 21, a Cuban-born crooner, was the last person host Ryan Seacrest said was “safe.”All the female contestants made it to the next round early on, leaving Arbos and the other two remaining male contestants in the vulnerable bottom three.

Here is what Lazaro said:

“One thing that I’ve learned: When you come into show business, not everyone is going to love you. Not everyone is going to love every song that you sing. But you can’t let that get to you,”

This one comes from Hollywoodlife.com:

Lazaro was talking about how he forgot his lyrics and how he will never cry on  national TV again.

Tensions are rising on American Idol as more contestants continue to get eliminated, and Lazaro Arbos is doing his best to withstand the heat. The contestant completely forgot his lyrics during a group performance on March 27, and was slammed by Nicki Minaj as well as fellow contestants Burnell Taylor and Devin Velez. After crying on stage the previous week, Lazaro is now saying that he will never cry again on national television, regardless of what happens in the future.

Here is what Lazaro said:

“I’ve gotten to the point where I worry about the people that love me no matter what, so if that’s how she felt – so what. I love her regardless and she knows that.”

Here is Lazaro performing For Once in My Life

My opinion of this is that he did an amazing job and I saw sparkles in his eyes. I loved how he was moving around. He was better than last week. He won't be going home and time soon. He was just in the bottom three once. If you look at last year Hollie Cavanagh was in the bottom three more than once and she was saved because people liked her. I will always vote for him. I am a #lazis forever!

American Idol: Lazaro Arbos edition

This week Lazaro sung In My Life. People are really hard on him but I do not know why. They don't need to be hard on him. He is having a hard time but he is doing so great. He has never been at the bottom even though some people think that he should be in the bottom. One thing that he has that no one has is the courage. Lazaro is the only one who stutters. Being a person that stutters it can be hard for him because people might think badly about him. Here is what I think about him. I think that he is an amazing singer. When I first heard him sing Bridge Trouble Over Waters in his audition, my reaction was like WOW! I said wow he's amazing! I still think that he is amazing. When he sung Angels it was just amazing and he was hitting all of his high notes, that I love. Through the years of watching idol and listening to music, Lazaro is the first singer to make me cry so much when I hear him sing. He has a sweet tone that is like no one else. No matter what people say about him, he will not listen and do his own thing. His best performance has to be Feeling Good. Its his best because he had swag and soul plus he also had he put his own spin on it. He also had some attitude in it. When he sings amazingly like Feeling Good the audience just screams louder so the judges can't even talk. I love it when that happens.

Here is what the dailymail.uk.com said about Wednesday Night:

He sobbed his eyes out after giving ‘the worst performance of the night’ on Wednesday's American Idol. And chronic-stutterer Lazaro Arbos's tears obviously pulled on the nation's heartstrings - winning him a reprieve on Thursday night's results show.

Just to make note of it Lazaro was the first one to be saved. Now next week he will show everyone that he has what it takes to be the next American Idol. Lazaro is getting votes because people like him no matter what Jimmy and the judges say. My bet is that he will be the last man standing!

Here is Lazaro's reaction to his performance on Wednesday:

Here is the recap of last night:

Lazaro Arbos is not going anywhere any time soon so people need to be nice to him. He is the best out of the guys!

SIDE NOTE: DID ANYONE EVER NOTICE THAT JIMMY HAS A BIG HEAD!

Here and There #4

There is so  much news that is out there. Backstreet Boys will have there 20th anniversary and it will be a great one. They will also be releasing a new album this year and then they will also get their name on the Hollywood walk of fame. Backstreet Boys aren't slowing down. There is also news about Backstreet Boys in production for a documentary.

Here is what Ew.com said about it:

“This is an incredible opportunity to make a film no one would expect The Backstreet Boys to make. What drew me to this project is their openness and willingness to push themselves into uncomfortable places, to be vulnerable and honest and to be really trusting of the filmmaking team to steer them in the right direction. This isn’t some 3-D Boy Band puff piece – BSB is getting real and it has been exciting to work with them as they explore their past and start to look towards their futures. They’re grown men in a boy-band. They are wrestling with the big questions in their lives and their careers. And they are just really fascinating guys,” Kijak said in a press release.

This comes from Rollingstones.com:

Kijak, who hopes to complete the documentary by this fall, said members of the band have been enthusiastic about the project. "What drew me to this project is their openness and willingness to push themselves into uncomfortable places, to be vulnerable and honest and to be really trusting of the filmmaking team to steer them in the right direction," he said, promising the project won't just be a "3D boy-band puff piece."

Kelly Clarkson won for Best Pop Vocal album at the Grammys. She was also being funny in her acceptance speech. Later in the show she performed. Here is part of what she said:

This comes from MTV.com

"I didn't know I was going to win 'cause I literally, I was so excited to be in a category with Fun. I have been covering you all summer. I'm sorry, I love that song. I think it's so awesome. I love Pink. Everyone — Adele — that I was in a category with. Miguel, I don't know who the hell you are, but we need to sing together. I mean, good god, that was the sexiest damn thing I've ever seen. What? Anyway, thank you so much, friends, family, label, my manager, Narvel [Blackstock, Brandon's father and Kelly's manager], my fiancé, who is sexy tonight. I did not think I was going to win. Thank you!"

Tv World #2 American Idol

This week on American Idol was a wild ride. Some people made it through and a lot of people went home. My favorites are saved at least for now. One of my favorites went home and that is Nate Tao. He was and is a great singer. I am sad to see him go home but I hope that he can come back. Two of my favorites that are safe are Johnny Keyser and Lazaro Arbos. Next week we get to know which twenty guys make it through and which eight get to go home. This year they are going to the top 40 very quick. Will Lazaro and Johnny make it through and be in the top 40??? I sure hope so.

This week Lazaro sung Angels and I thought he did such and amazing job. He is a shinning star. Here is an article about this amazing Lazaro Arbos:

This comes from the Examiner.com
Lazaro Arbos overcame a struggle during the first two rounds of Hollywood week on "American Idol" Wednesday.
Working through nervous energy and difficulty with stuttering, Arbos overcame the first round with a strong performance of "Angels" by Robbie Williams.
"It is extraordinary how when you start singing, it's so clear and full and beautiful," said an impressed Keith Urban. "You just simply must go on. You're going through."
In a new twist, Arbos was then asked to join a group with Josh Stephens, Scott Fleenor, and Christian Lopez, instead of selecting his own group.

Here is Lazaro Singing Angels:

Here is Lazaro singing in the group arounds:

Now on to Johnny Keyser. Johnny Keyser made it through to the Vegas round last year but this year he is sticking through hoping to make it to the top 40. Johnny was hardly shown on tv so far. His performance wasn't shown but he sung for group around and forgot the words to the song.

The person we get to say goodbye to is Nate Tao. He is an American sign language interpreter. His parents are both deaf.

This comes from reston.patch.com

The end of the line on Fox's American Idol came Thursday night for Reston's Nate Tao.
Tao, whose solo week performance was not shown on Thursday's show, was not chosen by judges to advance closer to the Top 20 that will sing live on the show.
They did air Tao's reaction, though.
"It's not the end of the world, but it sucks," Tao said on the broadcast.
Reston Patch spoke with Tao earlier on Thursday. Here's more info on him and his happy memories of performing at Herndon High School:
Reston's Nate Tao has heard from dozens of old Northern Virginia friends the last week - ever since he made it to Hollywood Week on American Idol
Idol-watchers will learn Thursday night whether Tao, a 2006 graduate of Herndon High, will advance to the Top 20 and a spot on the live portion of the show.
Even if the road ends for Tao, 24, in Hollywood Week, Tao (who of course can't talk about upcoming results) says it has been an amazing time.

Tv World #1 Switched At Birth

TV World is a new thing that will feature TV shows. I will talk about all of the shows that are out there. I am happy to announce that this is the first TV World and the feature story is Switched At Birth.

Last night episode of Switched At Birth "The Acquired Inability to Escape"

The Episode was about Bay and her school not having enough money to have a drama club so it was going to close except Katherine volunteer to be the new director for the school's play. At first Bay doesn't like having her around but then once Bay learns that she hurt her mom's feelings she changes her mind about her being at school. Daphne gets robbed and knocked down while being in the part with her food truck. She got robbed because two kids thought it was fun to fool the deaf kids.

Here are some articles about SAB:

This from Buddy TV

ABC Family's hit show, Switched at Birth continues on Monday, February 11, with an episode called "Human/Need/Desire." During a set visit last month as part of TCA 2013, BuddyTV caught up with Gilles Marini and Constance Marie, who play Angelo and Regina on the show, as they talked about learning sign language and the possibility of more passion between their characters.

The impact of the show on the sign language community
Asked about what affects they've personally observed in regards to the show's impact on the sign language community, Marie said, "Through the success of the show, a lot of students have told me that they have petitioned their high schools to have ASL as a second language. A lot of people have decided to become interpreters and take it in school and that's just because of a show. That's amazing to me."
Marini added, "It's been quite a bit of a revelation for me. [While] walking on the streets and I have had so many people from so many different countries [come up to me], because there is no show really around the world where the deaf community is a part of it. Once two girls from Spain came up to me and they said 'thank you' (signs the phrase), and I know [the sign for] 'thank you.' They were actually bi-lingual because the sign in Spanish isn't the same. So it was incredible to see that. They were like 'you don't understand what you do for us.' "

American Idol

This year is still great idol. I thought that last year was better. I do not like the judges. I am only watching idol for the contestants. There were two contestants the stood out for me already. One is season's 11 Johnny Keyser who has released an EP since last year and who has landed on the billboard charts before the season 11 was even over.
Next was this guy named Lazaro Arbos who started to stutter when he was 6 years old. He is now 21 years old. It is amazing when he sings because he doesn't stutter and he has a tenor voice. Everyone will be rooting for him. Usually I never pick the winners this early in the competition but I already have my winners. Plus the auditions aren't even over lol. I think that Johnny Keyser and Lazaro Arbos should make it to the finally and I know that is way too soon to tell but I believe in them so much.

Here is videos from Johnny Keyser:

Here and There #3

KELLY CLARKSON

Kelly Clarkson's new album Stronger comes out October 24 and she talked with MTV and here is a little video of what Kelly had to say about her album

Here is what Kelly had to say:
"Oh yeah, there's a little bit of dance," Clarkson continued. "One of the songs, it's probably gonna be a single, 'What Doesn't Kill You,' it's a great song and definitely ... that's the one everybody will be jumping up and down to."
That combination of soul, rock, pop and dance is apparent in the album's lead single, the ultimate tell-off anthem "Mr. Know It All." But what are Clarkson's other top picks from the LP?
" 'You Love Me' is probably one of my favorites," Clarkson said. " 'Honestly' is another one. 'What Doesn't Kill You,' I can't wait to perform that live. We've already rehearsed it and it's so much fun. It's like this big dance anthem. That'll be the one [that's] kinda like 'Since U Been Gone,' [with] people jumping up and down to [it], and it's just kind of really inspiring, so I can't wait to perform that one."

Despite Kelly having a new album coming out she also has other things on her mind. Kelly reveals that she has 50 animals she takes care for.

KELLY Clarkson owns 50 animals.
The Because of You hitmaker admits her home has become like a “rescue ranch” as she is so willing to take in sick and abandoned creatures.
“It’s like a rescue ranch now,” she said.
“We have 30 dogs, 14 horses. We still only have three ponies and four minis, but we have goats now, two pigs we rescued called Miss Daisy and Boss Hog, I gave those to my brother.”
While Kelly loves getting new animals, she insists there are some creatures she wouldn’t take in because they are just too big.
“There are elephant sanctuaries about one mile from where we are — which in Texas isn’t that far because we’re all spread out — and people have asked would I ever take in something that big,” she added

DEMI LOVATO

Demi released Unbroken September 20, 2011 and I hear she is being compared to Kelly Clarkson but not as strong as Kelly. Here is about Unbroken from my.hsj.org a site about teenagers
When celebrities go to treatment centers, they tend to hide the facts from fans and media alike. Demi Lovato takes a different route; she openly speaks about her problems. Demi speaks – or rather, sings – about her experiences in her new album “Unbroken”, out September 20. From songs about family issues and self-harm to tracks about dancing the problems away, Lovato’s new album has a track that everyone can relate to.

Some of Lovato’s best tracks off the album are her ballads. “For The Love of a Daughter” is a ballad about Demi’s relationship with her father. A biographical song, Demi hauntingly sings about the pain she’s felt with her father. The song – which was shelved from her sophomore album "Here We Go Again" – talks about mature issues like drinking and fighting. She ends up saying “it’s hopeless” because he pushed her out of his world. This trend continues with “Fix a Heart”, a song where Lovato talks about her own life, making references to cutting (“I ended up with wounds to bind...and I just ran out of band aids”) and how she will never be completely "fixed". The pain behind the vocals is evident, making it one of the most vulnerable songs on the album. To read More Click Here
